Hey, friends! I just wanted to make this because I've been wanting to post something for y'all, but there's been a lot going on behind the scenes...
I last updated while I was still working on a scholarship portfolio, which feels like ages ago... In December and January I was working hard on projects to use in that portfolio. I all but burnt myself out, and ended up not getting the scholarship, but I'm proud of everything I was able to make, learned so much about what works for me, and gained a lot of knowledge and confidence in 3D. I'm planning to make a post soon to reflect on all that because it was kind of a big deal.
But because of the confidence boost, since February, I've been trying to branch out... You may have seen my character WIPs already? I've tried Calcifer, Howl, a bald baby-looking version of myself, and an homage to my bess beetle Buddy. Hopefully I can finish them soon because I want to play around with making more character models, and maybe try to do more fanart!
But I also took a break from art starting in late February to KonMari the hell out of my life. It took about 3 to 4 weeks, and I still have to bring it all to GoodWill, and then in a month or two, or less maybe, I'll have to do that again when I move. I'm glad I took the time for myself, though, especially so early in the year, and especially around my 20th birthday(!!!). A lot of changes -- a lot of big ones -- are going to enter my life soon and I feel bettered prepared for them.
I think my biggest challenge is figuring out how to balance everything. I'm trying to prepare for school and moving out while also trying to work on 3D and three big long-term projects... But while taking a break to tidy, I was able to make substantial progress in planning and conceptualizing my novel and a couple games! I'm starting to work on them now, and I'm very excited to share my ideas for those with you soon.
Thank you all for sticking around. I appreciate you, and I love sharing things with you! Hopefully I can do more of that more often :)
