I just had my first week of classes after being away from school for a while, and I thought I should reflect on this summer in terms of art...
In May I joined a team to make 3D assets for a fantasy farming sim called Naporia! I started off working on smaller assets and now I'm moving more into larger environmental pieces. I can't wait to share what I've been working on because it's made me improve SO much! But you can at least get a glimpse at the end of this video of a heart radish I modeled and textured. It was the first thing I made for the game!
In June I moved out of my family home into an apartment and since then, I've been having a surge of ideas... As I can remember them, they are:
I know there's a lot for me to do, but I am so excited and so passionate about all of these (It looks like I'm most passionate about fantasy and magic haha). I'm learning how to organize and prioritize things and will probably be working on all of these for the next several years. I've already been working on those projects, and various small art pieces, a lot in July and August. I don't foresee slowing down too much even with school starting. I'm just going to learn to be more concrete and organized.
It feels weird to keep updating y'all on different things because I don't want to seem like I'm giving up on ideas, but I guess what's really happening is that I'm adjusting and learning what to prioritize based on my capabilities and what I'm most excited about, which are still very much a part of the process of making the thing.
I expect for you all, you'll see more progress updates with Naporia first, and more on The DeadQueen second. The games I'm making on my own will be really slow, but I'm starting to enjoy the long process of making big pieces of art. Hopefully I can share more info with y'all soon! Take care!
